‘Searching for Saito’  HopeCorps 2022-2023 Award, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture  Seattle, WA  2023

Selected for City of Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture HopeCorps 2022-2023 Award.  Researched and drew 74 page graphic novel based on Rinzo Saito, a Japanese immigrant who lived in Seattle’s Japantown-Chinatown from 1912-1969.  The Jackson Street jazz scene, Alaska cannery work, and World War II incarceration in Department of Justice camps were part of his life story.
