Map of Mantta

Created during the winter of 2018 at the Serlachius Residency in Mantta, Finland, Map of Mantta's watercolor and gouache works capture the Finnish winterscape.  As the year's longest night loomed, ice melted and froze, snow settled in the woods and warm lights shone from windows.  Observing the quiet of the Finnish people, these landscapes and interiors are imbued with the mood of a reflective December.
